About Us

Aero/Pacific Custom Draperies' founder, Harold Moses, began his career in Detroit in the remodeling business back in 1950. Little did he know then that his future wasn't to be bricks and mortar, but rather needles and thread. Harold's customers were often looking for someone to add that final touch - custom draperies. In answer to his customer' requests, Harold opened Aero Drapery in 1950. Harold quickly found that he loved the creativity that the custom drapery business allowed him. In 1972, he relocated the store to the corner of Ten Mile and Telegraph in Southfield, Michigan. Harold spent the next 25 years perfecting and growing the business.

In 1985, Harold's son Mitchell joined the family business and began working alongside his father. The following year, Harold and Mitchell purchased Pacific Drapery, an existing, successful, 35-year-old custom drapery business in Inkster, Michigan. They opened a second location, and the new company name of Aero/Pacific Drapery was born.

Mitchell spent the next decade studying the craft and learning all he could about custom window coverings, from the ground up. He worked for months learning from experienced installers, seamstresses, and sales people.

In 1995, Mitchell took over the business following Harold's retirement. Because of exceptional quality and customer service, the company has seen steady growth. Aero/Pacific is proud that their customers keep coming back for additional projects and refer them to family, friends, and business associates. Due to the company's desire to be more centrally located to its customers, in October 2007, the showroom was relocated to Berkley, Michigan and serves as the company's headquarters today.

Today, Aero/Pacific Custom Draperies offers the same top quality and competitively-priced custom draperies, blinds, shades, and bedspreads that it has since 1950. The company can also handle the difficult installations and hard-to-fit windows. They offer updated designs in blinds, roller shades, draperies and more; all custom-made to fit your windows and your budget. They have over 30,000 satisfied customers, both residential and commercial. Their comfortable, welcoming atmosphere and helpful, knowledgeable staff are pleased to help their customers select the colors and styles that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Their accurate measuring, expert seamstresses, and professional installers ensure that your custom order is always a perfect fit.
